Bringing Home a New Puppy

I have all sorts of dog related things that pop up in my Google news feed, since Google has been keeping track of my life for years now.

Today I came across a Newsweek article on helping a puppy adjust to a new home. Their To-Do list includes:

  1. Dog proofing your home

  2. Making space for the dog

  3. Giving the dog a house tour

  4. Introducing them to the family

  5. Giving time for the dog to adjust

  6. Establishing a routine

  7. Preparing for house training

  8. Taking them to the vet

You may be a long time dog owner, and have no issue with integrating a new canine family member, but it doesn’t hurt to refresh your memories of puppy days past. For new puppy owners, hopefully you are absorbing as much as you can to have a smooth transition. This is a quick read chock full of tips.
